This is a very rare 1978 SeaCraft 23ft Seavette, hull #11 out of the 11 that were built in 1978. She is powered by a 502 HP ZZ 502 Engine with a Mercruiser TRS Outdrive. Original trailer included!
BOAT DETAILS:
The boat was professionally restored by Wildfire Marine in Stuart, FL and was put back in service in 2007. The deck was replaced, the top cap was re cored, and the engine box was narrowed. The teak was removed from the top cap and a hatch was fabricated behind the bow light for the anchor locker, along with some storage hatches on both sides of the engine box. The rub rail was replaced along with various other hardware, (hinges, latches, etc.) The boat was painted with PPG Concept Lemon Ice. The bolster pads were redone with the custom Seavette embroidery on the rear one, also the bolster pad backing board was replaced with PVC board. I had the SeaCraft emblems custom made along with the black boot stripes. The transom was replaced by the previous owner with synthetic materials and Kevlar. Roughly 99 percent of the boat was rewired with the marine tinned wire from bestboatwire.com. At this time I installed two new Rule 2000 bilge pumps on two automatic float switches, hoses, and a new bilge blower. The boat has a custom Baja style swim platform, and the 12X16 Bennett sport trim tabs. In Dec. 2008 I also installed new Gaffrig controls along with new control cables.
UPGRADES IN DECEMBER 2008:
The engine is a fresh water cooled ZZ502 that was installed brand new and as of this writing has 101.2 HRS on it. It has the Edelbrock EDL-61459 Marine Aluminum Heads, Edelbrock air-gap intake manifold, a Holley 800CFM double pumper carb, Weiand aluminum water pump, Crane gold roller rockers, thunder bolt IV distributor, MSD blaster 2 coil, and MSD 6AL-2 multi spark ignition box. The raw water pump is bronze, made by Jabsco and was purchased new in 2007. The fresh water cooling system is made by San Juan Engineering and was also purchased new in 2008. The engine also has the Stainless Marine exhaust manifolds. New GM mini starter.
I did a little research and discovered that Edelbrock manufactures the heads for the GM ZZ502 crate engine and the GM head specs out the same as the Edelbrock EDL-61459 Marine head. However if you buy the Marine heads from Edelbrock, you get the Inconel exhaust valves and anodized coating. It ended up costing a little more money buying the parts individually but was worth it to me to have the Inconel exhaust valves and the anodized coating.
The outdrive is the TRS unit that has been freshened up, a Bravo style skeg installed, complete drive sandblasted, and painted. It also has a Bravo I four blade propeller that was purchased new in 2009 from Bblades. In Dec of 2008 when I installed the engine I also replaced the Gimble housing with a remanufactured unit from Dollar Performance, and installed a new, Mercruiser new style tilt/trim unit.
ELECTRONICS:
Garmin 545s color chartplotter with the optional XM Weather/radio antenna.
Kenwood Stereo/MP3 player, US Amps MD 42 4 channel amp for the 8 marine 6X9s pushing 500RMS watts (6X9 boxes were custom made), Memphis Audio PR 1.500 class D sub amp for the 2-12in sub woofers also pushing 500RMS watts.
Kinetik intelligent power supply/charger KIPS [removed phone] AMPS)
Kinetik HC 2400 battery
VHF radio.
TRAILER:
From what I can tell the trailer is the original one that the boat came on. It is a painted aluminum Hitch Hiker Road Boss. It is not much to look at, however it is very road worthy. The springs along with the associated hardware were replaced in 2008. When I bought the boat (2005) the axels looked new. I re carpeted the bunks in 2008.
