DOWNEAST in Wando, SC

General Condition
The Downeast 38 Cutter is a solid Bluewater Cruiser capable of handling long voyages in style and comfort. The roomy interior is family-friendly with lots of room for extended cruising.
Actual Condition
This solid-looking Downeast 38 suffered water intrusion at the dock. It was reportedly a failed intake hose. Water level was over the engine and water lines can be seen in the photos. It appears approximately 3 feet of water was in the cabin before it was pumped and floated.
The Mastervolt Whisper Genset had water at the mounts, but the unit appears to have stayed dry. The mast and rig show well. The bow pulpit was damaged and is shown in the photos.
This Downeast looks like she was in good shape prior to damage, but she will need mechanical, wiring, and cosmetic repairs. She is a great opportunity for an inexpensive long-range cruiser/live-aboard. Bid now!
