The Bayliner 2859 Classic has earned much popularity in areas such as Alaska, British Columbia and both the NE & NW US Coastal waters. This is a testiment to this durable and extremely versatile mid size cruiser.
ACCOMMODATIONS:
The vessel sleeps six adults; 2 in the V-berth, 2 in the mid-cabin and 2 in the convertible dinette. The deep cabin forward design adds to the ease of access and sleeping comfort in the large forward V-berth w/storage under the mattress. An overhead hatch and 2 large sliding windows (one at dinette and one at galley) allow excellent ventilation. Directly aft, to port, of the V-berth is a booth style dinette that converts to a double berth. There are 2 storage lockers under the dinette and a hanging locker directly across, to starboard. Aft of the dinette is the entry into the mid-cabin. As you enter, there is a generous hanging locker, to port, forward of the berth and additional storage to starboard of the berth. The mid-cabin has an opening window/hatch and a dedicated AC/Heat duct to aid in the comfort of the occupants. The full galley is mid cabin, to starboard, just aft of the V-berth. Galley counter top and working space is generous for a boat this size. There are 3 under counter cabinets (one w/2 pull out drawers). Aft, to starboard, of the galley is the enclosed head w/vanity and shower. There is stand-up room and storage for personal items and toiletries in 2 cabinets (one above vanity and one below). Exit the cabin through the center companionway into the spacious cockpit. Forward cockpit is under the protective cover of the hard top. Helm is to starboard and directly across from the helm, to port, is a bench seat with removable table. The windshield and side windows are high and offer the captain an excellent 360 degree view. Side windows slide open for ventilation. The hardtop offers the added bonus of out of the way storage for large items such as kayaks, water toys or even bikes. Aft of the helm, the cockpit is completely open, with an abundance of room for several of your guests to fish or move about. There is a large in-cockpit transom storage locker. Engine, generator and additional storage is accessed through 3 hatches in the cockpit soul. High bow rails, generous walkways and a large swim/dive platform aid in the safety and ease of moving from bow to stern. When the day winds down, just drop anchor and put up the full camper enclosure and you will appreciate what this boat is all about.
