The same owner continues "My wife and I searched for a new boat for about 8 months. After many on the water tests we decided on the 2000 Maxum 2100 SR. We went with the 5.7 V8. If I could change one thing, it would be to have gone with the 5.7MPI. (multi port injection) I think it's 250HP instead of the carbureted 220HP. I like to go fast. My top-speed is 59 MPH. For some reason I just can't hit 60. It's fast, but another 6-8 MPH would be AWESOME. So far there has been no problems. We've had the boat for a year and a half now. It is in currently getting the 100 hour maintenance. The boat has lots of room. I believe it's rated for 9-10 people. We've had 9 people on board while pulling a skier. I just upgraded the stereo. It came with a JVC CD player with 4 speakers. It now has 6 speakers, 10"sub, 500 watt amp, CD-changer and an Alpine deck. It pretty much rocks the water. I think Maxum is one of the BEST boats for the money. We went with the 2100 because it was the same price if not less than the others 18-19 footers. I plan on taking very good care of the boat. We should NEVER have to buy another boat. If for some unknown reason we did I would definitely buy another Maxum."
