This Albemarle is brand new on the bottom as of October 2015. She has been out of the water getting a beautiful make-over to include:
Removed old bottom paint and barrier coat using soda blast method and repaired 1 surface Blister on the port side gunnel 6 inches forward of the transom 2" in diameter below water line. Repaired surface dings in gel coat with marine tex and west epoxy.
There is a older repair port side that was very well repaired. Added approximately 3 mils of west epoxy to the area to bring it to the gel coat surface.
I removed ALL bottom coats 100%. All layers were replaced 6 layers of west epoxy for the base of the barrier coat. (6 mils)
2 coats of white Interlux 2 part epoxy for a anti fouling paint indicator (see white no more sanding to remove ablative paint.) (for a total 12-16 mils barrier coat)
Extra layers where old barrier wore more than others in the bow area, prop area and transom.
2-3 coats of WEST MARINE CPP Antifouling Paint with CCT
New Morse cutlass bearings
Balanced and recupped both props. (both in excellent condition)
Painted exposed shafts, props and new stainless cotter pins with INTERLUX Trilux 33 Antifouling Paint Added new zincs to bare metal on each shaft.
Repaired and painted bottom of swim platform and cleaned and greased joints of the ladder. All new stainless fasteners.
Replaced 3 through hull fittings and 5 ball valves using 3M 5200 adhesive caulk.
Relocated 2 batteries (new as of 6/15) from the steering box to the bilge. Formed and attached using multi layer fiberglass ballistic board (that's right,bullet proof), cloth and west epoxy then painted. (strapped in)
New 12" X 18" Trim tabs attached using west epoxy and new zincs.
New grounded block zinc on the transom.
New bow light.
New upholstery on the fighting chair and back gunnel rails.
New tack and line on the outriggers.
New battery cables.
New blue tooth stereo.
New wiper and motor.
Fresh synthetic oil changes and tune ups and all filters.
The bottom side of the boat is brand new.
New fuel filters and synthetic oil change in April 2015
New raw water intake impellers in April 2015
Everything on this boat works and is very well taken care of.
