Vessel design construction hull deck etcThe Irwin 38 hull is a center-cockpit design and is made from a one piece moldin solid fiberglass. The deck cabin top and cockpit are also made from a one piece mold and are also solid fiberglass. The hull includes a raised toerail with a varnished teak caprail generous protective rub rails on the hull sides a shallow draft wing keel and a substantial skeg rudder. The interior headliner is made from a one piece mold and is smooth finished. The hull color is beige with dark blue trim. See photos and the hull line drawings for more details. Vessel interior layout & accomodationsShe offers a spacious main saloon galley to port and navigation area and passagewayto starboard. Aft is a spacious private aft stateroom with ensuite head hanging closet cabinets and drawers. Forward is a spacious private V-berth type stateroom with a hanging locker and cabinets and shelves. There are two heads. The guestheadis in the forward passageway with vanity mirrors manual Raritan head and hand shower.Themaster headis off the master stateroom with vanity mirrors manual Raritan head and shower. Both headshave holding tanks and are equipped with Y" valve and macerator pump so can be emptied via a pumpout or overboard. Her interior is clean bright dry and comfortable. Headroom is a substantial 6 ft 3". There are a total of four large windows five opening hatches and seven opening ports. As throughout the boat the headroom in the aft stateroom and head aregood and the teak woodwork trim and floors arein excellent condition.The forward guest stateroom and guest head are reached via the forward passageway. The mast and boom are aluminum. The mast has a single set of spreaders and is deck stepped with a compression post.Rigging is wire with single wire headestay and backstay two upper shrounds and four lower shrounds. The chain plates are internal with access via the interior. There is a teak bowsprit with a stainless steel "dolphin striker" to counter the headstay loading. The genoa furling system is Schaefer (new 2005). The mainsail is a UK fully battened loose footed sail (new 1999). The genoa is130% genoa mounted on the Schaefer furling system. Control of the furling system is via the cockpit. Mainsail reefingis conventionalwith the assistance of lazy jacks and acanvas dark blue Sunbrellamainsail enclosure secured to the boom.There are three mast halyards a mainsail halyard genoa halyard and a spare or spinnaker halyard.
