PRICE REDUCED!!Serenity is a 1969 Chris Craft 35 Commander Sport CruiserIf you are an aficionado of classic cars why not add this piece of AMERICAN HISTORY to your collection, there is not another boat like it in the Houston/Galveston area. She is a very well built boat intended for offshore cruising or fishing. The hull is solid hand laid fiberglass and is very thick and is considered to be overbuilt by today's standards. There is no coring in the hull bottom or sides. The boat was designed to withstand 3 times the force of 6?head-on seas at wide open throttle without suffering damage.Serenity has always been kept under cover and spent at least 20 years in fresh water. The gel-coat still shines like new. It is powered by 2-427 Ford engines that are rated at 300 hp@4000rpm and 440lb ft torque@2900 rpm. These are the cross-bolted main engines that won the 24 hours at Le Mans race 3 years in a row. They were purpose built by Ford for endurance racing. These engines were detuned by Chris Craft for reliability and long life durability and still run great with 1200 hrs on them as of September 23rd,2011. They are closed cooled engines and have fresh water flush outs for the parts that are exposed to salt water. The risers were replaced in 2010 and the prop shafts have drip-less packing's.The bottom was painted in January 2011 by South Texas Yacht Service and several thru hulls were replaced. The interior of the boat was completely remodeled in 2010 with new wall covering, paint, carpet, curtains, counter top and bed covering.Serenity is a two stateroom model consisting of a large v-berth forward and a side stateroom with two bunks. The head has an electric macerator pump with a 25 gallon holding tank. The shower is full size stand up with a seat. The boat has pressurized hot and cold water with a 75 gallon fresh water tank, a 12 gallon hot water heater that is electric and engine heated. There are 2 shore water connections, one starboard and one port.The galley is located in the salon on the port side and has a GE 6.5 cu.ft.refrigerator/freezer, a princess 3 burner electric stove and oven, a microwave oven and a large counter top with stainless steel sink. There is adequate storage for food and kitchen equipment.The salon has a small couch, chair, and table. There is a lower helm that has all the original Chris Craft gauges and switches that are in working order. There is a Scentury fume detector and magnetic compass at the lower helm along with a new VHF marine transceiver/with DSC.The boat is heated and cooled with 2 CruiseAir air reverse cycle air conditioners, one 12,000 btu unit that is brand new and an 8000 btu unit. The air conditioners also have fresh water flush outs. There are two 30amp shore power cords and an Onan 4.0KW closed ?cooled generator with fresh water flush outs for salt water exposed parts..The cockpit is large enough for fishing or relaxing and there is a teak wood swim platform. All engine gauges original. There is a marine VHF Transceiver and an International Offshore depth finder and a Unimetrics hailer at the fly-bridge helm. The fly-bridge seats 5 people and has a folding bimini top with side rails for safety.Safety features include an automatic halon fire-suppressant system in the engine room along with CO detectors and smoke detectors.
