Model History
Mirage Manufacturing of Gainesville, FL. has been producing fiberglass vessels of varying designs since 1971 and introduced the Great Harbour series of trawlers more than 10 years ago. One of their most popular designs is the now-classic GH37. This raised pilothouse style trawler was designed by famed naval architect Lou Codega and features robust dimensions for her modest 37' overall length. These semi-custom boats are built to order directly from the factory. There have been just over 30 of this model built to date and the boat does still remain in production. The boat has remained true to its original design over the years with only minimal modifications. The major difference in the GH37 is the availability of an "A" or "B" arrangement. Floor-plan A features a large guest cabin/study to port with the galley off to starboard, a single head and a modified salon arrangement. Floor-plan B has the galley to port with a smaller guest cabin to starboard, there are two heads and the salon as a built-in desk/cabinet area. "Miss Natalie" is a "B" arrangement boat.Construction
Great Harbour prides itself for its heavy, no non-sense construction. The GH37 is built on a solid fiberglass hull using isothalic-NPG gel-coat, vinylester resin and heavy woven roving fiberglass cloth. The factory states that they do not use any sprayed chopped in the construction of their hulls and that they are 100% hand-laid. In the deck and superstructure, the factory uses vacuum bagged cored fiberglass construction technology featuring Nida-Core coring material. This fully synthetic honeycomb style core is incredibly strong, will not rot and is reported by the factory to give the boat positive buoyancy when fully flooded. The hull stringers are marine-grade plywood fully encapsulated in fiberglass. Bulkheads are also marine-grade plywood and are glassed to the hull and deck using knitted fiberglass cloth. The hull to deck joint completely fiberglassed for strength and water tight integrity. The full tanks in the GH37 are constructed of fiberglass using vinylester resin and are used as an integral component of the structural backbone (stringer system) of the vessel. This is a stoutly built boat.Vessel Walk Thru
The vessel is entered from the cockpit via dual hinged doors. As you enter the salon there is a built-in L-shaped settee to starboard with three storage drawers beneath. Opposite on port, there is built-in desk with writing area, six drawers, two lockers,a pull-out dinette table and a cabinet for the entertainment center. There is a pass-thru with counter from the galley which features a flip-up shelf. The salon sole is in teak & holly and has a hinged hatch for engine room access. Forward of the settee on port are steps going to the pilothouse; at the base of the steps is a locker for the stand-up washer & dryer. At the forward end of the salon on centerline are two steps down to the galley and stateroom areas. Moving forward, there is a U-shaped galley to port which features a full size appliances, a double basin sink and good storage. Across from the galley is an office/guest stateroom with a built-in desk and cabinet, a convertible single berth and a private head with separate stall shower. The master stateroom is located in the bow and features a centerline marine queen berth, dual hanging lockers, and numerous drawers & cabinets. There is a private master head located off to port which includes a separate stall shower.
The pilothouse is accessed via the steps located on the starboard side of the salon area. The PH has a built-in seating area aft with folding table and a single pilot berth behind. The helm is on centerline forward and has a number of storage lockers on either side. There are two hinged PH doors, one port and one starboard that give easy access to the Portuguese bridge that surrounds the pilothouse.Salon
One of the wonderful design features of the GH 37 is the wide beam and ability to use the full width in the cabin space. The salon is spacious, open and quite voluminous for a vessel of this size. There are plenty of opening windows for light and ventilation. A full size stacked washer and dryer is neatly tucked away in a locker next to the stairs to the pilot house. The traditional white bead-board paneling works very well with the beautiful mahogany woodwork.

 Broker Comments
The GH37 is a unique trawler designed for coastal cruising. Her unconventional profile gives maximum interior space and fantastic visibility. There is a basic, no non-sense, philosophy that has gone into the design and construction of the vessel, which can be refreshing in this age of glitz and glamor. "Miss Natalie" is a one owner vessel that has seen minimal use with only 695 hours since new. Her gel-coat was painted in 2007 and shows well. Disclaimer
