The layout of cockpit and cabin on the Cobalt 293 establishes benchmarks for convenience and functionality. Crew and guests will enjoy the wet bar with sink, refrigerator and removable cockpit table, conveniently located amidships for easy cockpit access. The 293's snap-out, rubber-backed plush carpeting makes cleaning quick and easy. A color-matched Bimini top provides shade throughout the cockpit when desired. The helm of the Cobalt 293 has fingertip control of all systems. Depth, air, and water temperature gauges are built into the perfectly stitched, fully upholstered rosewood dash. The tilt steering wheel is leather-bound. A Sony digital sound system with a ten-disc CD changer provides quality entertainment for crew and guests. The optional Captain's Call exhaust allows the captain to enhance the wonderful sound of twin V-8's performing in harmony. The large double-wide seat has a flip-up bolster that lifts the pilot and a guest above the windshield for a safe, comfortable high-speed ride. In a clever design, the entire transom and rear seat lifts hydraulically for access to the engine compartment. The beauty and protection of stainless steel are evident throughout the vessel's profile: from the bow and anchor scuff plates to the transom ladder, through the grab rails and gunwale cap, from the windshield braces to cleats backed by aluminum plates. The electric windlass is engineered below the contour of the foredeck; it does nothing to break the smooth flow of the 293's profile. Crew and guests will appreciate the added convenience and safety of the custom extended swim platform when boarding the boat or enjoying a cool "dip" while anchored in your favorite cove.
The luxurious cabin has accommodations to comfortably sleep two in the convertible forward V-berth. The 293 features a galley with granite counter top, microwave, sink w/hot & cold pressure faucet. There is plenty of galley storage and an adjustable captain's dining table that converts into the forward V-berth. The fully enclosed head has a granite counter top, sink w/hot & cold pressure faucet and shower. The cabin door slides independently of its screen, as part of a comprehensive cabin ventilation system incorporating two screened foredeck hatches and four portholes. There is storage under every seat, in the cedar-lined hanging locker, in the galley, in the transom fender locker and in the insulated cockpit ice chest. The electrical system on the 293 supplies power through the AC/DC distribution panel to a water heater with exchanger, an air compressor, and the various appliances. A complete battery recharging system is standard equipment. The boat is equipped with the optional five-kilowatt generator, providing comfort and convenience as well as liveaboard capability.
