06 Chaparral 256 SSI 95 Hours

It is not easy to define where the Chaparral 256 SSI falls when choosing a class in which to place an advertisement.
There is seating up front, but it's not quite a bow rider. The cockpit has many of the features of a deck boat, wrap around seating, sun pad, wet bar and head. It's sort of a runabout, but with the extended running service she performs at the sport boat level. I guess no matter what you call it, it is a great boat to have fun on.
Playtime starts aft with the big integrated swim platform. The platform adds a stylish profile to the boat and the longer running surface provides better performance and handling. Pull up cleats are positioned to cross tie the stern and keep the lines from chafing the beautiful finish.
The insole ski locker can hold most toys, The sun pad on the engine cover will quickly become a favorite tanning spot. Wrap around seating in the cockpit will hold 6 comfortably. There is room for a cooler to port and a wet bar to starboard.
Twin bucket seats at the helm area have flip up bolsters. Gauges, switches and controls are all easily manipulated.
The bow area seats four or allows two tanners. Back rests have lumbar support and there is a bow ladder, just like a deck boat. There are handrails in the right spots and the bow seating has stowage below. The forward rake to the arch gives the 256 a great look.
You will find the Volvo drive train gets this 256 up on plane quickly and runs pretty efficiently.
Chaparral puts a lot of quality into every boat they build. Things like strong backing plates on hardware and nice electrical systems cost a little more up front, but pay big dividends down the road.
