Builder Information
America's Cup boat builder Westerly Marine founded in 1970 is located in Santa Ana California and is an industry leader in advanced composite construction. Westerly specializes in the 40 to 100 foot range and produced both sail and power designs for world cruising and racing. They have earned an international reputation of producing light strong fast designs for the America's Cup Big Boat Series Kenwood Cup SORC plus numerous other international venues.
Construction
HULL:Core cell sandwich on a male mold laminated with epoxy impregnated glass fabric reinforced with carbon fiber in high load areas vacuum bagged and post cured in an oven.DECK:Balsa core sandwich construction with carbon fiber laminates in high strength areas solid laminates at deck penetrations winch bases hatches.
Accommodations
Interior joiner work and cabinetry is satin finished American cherry with teak and holly sole.There are accommodations for six guests in three cabins. The owners stateroom is very light and airy with queen sized bed and en suite head and stall shower. Guest cabins include VIP stateroom to starboard with queen size berth and en suite head and separate stall shower shared with the port guest cabin. The port cabin has generous upper and lower single berths.
