Actual Location: Lake Lewisville, TX
- Stock #[removed phone] - Barely used and professionally maintained beauty! The boat's hull design is one of its most exciting features. The vented hull with reversed chines provides enhanced spray control and greater grab in turns. For the past several years, Bob Carlson has been designing Crownline's various models -- but that is no longer the case. The 230 EX was designed by an entirely new team of designers who have done an excellent job of keeping Carlson's modern lines while giving them a mini-facelift. The changes are hardly noticeable, but those small modifications are for the better. One great feature on the 230 EX is the rear settee that covers the engine compartment. Rather than just throwing a seat over this hard-to-design area, Crownline has come up with an ingenious lounger with a backrest that flips forward and converts seating for two into a giant sunpad. Great idea.Crownline is very good about including popular items as standard features. For instance, a fully integrated bow and cockpit fiberglass liner is standard, as are courtesy and docking lights, an extended platform with a four-step boarding ladder, a tilt steering wheel and a full graphics package. The 230 EX is definitely not lacking in coolers, which we can appreciate, given our unnatural addiction to sodas. You'll find not one ... not two ... but three(!) coolers aboard the 230 EX. There's a 48-quart pullout cooler, a mini-cooler in the galley and a 25-quart cooler at the bow. In addition to the mini-cooler, the small galley is equipped with a sink, a poly countertop, a sea rail and a storage bin. The boat also has a pressurized water system with a 15-gallon tank. A large head compartment can be found inside the port console, and even if you never use the portable toilet, the space is big enough for changing out of wet clothes or using for stowage. The compartment includes a light, a screened portlight that opens and a sink with shower. Another one of the great features was the race car-type helm station. Stainless steel bezeled Faria gauges accent the full set of instrumentation, and a Sony marine stereo CD player with four speakers and a remote is standard. The ski lockers built into the deck give you a lot of stowage area, but they take up close to 80 percent of the deck surface. As a result, they are not as easy to use as previous years' lockers, which were thinner but deeper. Nevertheless, there's quite a bit of stowage space. The Crownline 230 EX is well suited to upscale families, because the boat has a quality look and its list of standard features goes on for days. Moreover, families will like having the portable head (in case of emergency), and the convertible rear settee that becomes a sunpad lets little passengers ride safely at speed or lie out in comfort when the boat is at a standstill. Please submit any and ALL offers - your offer may be accepted!
