Seller note:

1972 Columbia Yachts MK II, 34' 1972 Columbia Yachts MK II, 34' is ready for cruising around the world. She has been outfitted with a lot of new equipment. She took us to Tonga with no problem and stood up to rough seas where we saw heavier displacement vessels struggle. She performed better than some $200,000.00 yachts which were with us on the 2004 Pacific Puddle Jump. OWNER COMMENTS: What you love about the boat She has lots of space and is very forgiving Your best times on the boat Cruising What would buyers love about the boat Same as we do- Cruise and travel around the world. Why are you selling We have to go back to work We came across to the idea of cruising in November 2000 right after we acquired this vessel. She inspired us to change our lifestyle -- for the better. Doing routine jobs made us so restless as we foreseen ourselves working as hard as we did and gain nothing but stacks of paid bills. On top of that, we were not ready to settle our roots just yet, especially in Las Vegas. However, we were excited and enthusiastic about the idea of seeing the world at our own terms and so we became fascinated with the idea of cruising. So, we focused all our energies into reaching this goal. The boat came as a blessing to us. On top of that, we have not had any major repair that the boat required (knock on wood), mostly superficial. Such as: lots of varnishing, bottom painting, sealing cracks and replacing old and unreliable parts here and there. Majority of our preparation was to jerry-rig the boat for cruising mode. We've upgraded everything that is essential since we were shooting for the long haul. We have replaced our standing rigging (thick wires that hold the mast up) from 7/32" to 5/16" to "beef-it-up," installed mast-steps for reef watching (this is for safety not for personal enjoyment), 3 solar panels, electric windlass (a must to avoid confrontation), single side band and VHF radios, wash down system, water maker, increased our battery bank, refrigerator, propane stove, inverter, autopilot .etc. Bottom line is: we've packed our boat with everything we can afford except for the dishwasher and washing machine and dryer.
