Playpen started life as a 48' Hatteras Long Range Cruiser and then the seller had her cockpit extended 5' in 2002. The huge cockpit really makes this rare 3 stateroom model unique and so desirable. The swimplatform was also extended for water sports and tender handling. Speaking of the tender there is a newer Nautical Structures davit included. The pilothouse was customized for better seating and traffic flow. 48' Hatteras LRC Vessel Walkthrough
Entering Playpen's salon through the aft door to the enlarged cockpit one finds a sofa to starboard lounge chairs to port and then the galley further forward to port. There are steps starboard forward to the pilothouse. There are wing doors to the side decks on each side of the pilothouse. The steps to the guest staterooms below are to starboard in the pilothouse.
48' Hatteras LRC Accommodations
Playpen is one of three 3 stateroom 48' LRC models built. With her extension to 53' and her 3 stateroom layout she is truly one of a kind. The forward guest stateroom offers a twin berth arrangement while the port guest stateroom offers over/under bunks and the amidships master stateroom offers an island queen size berth. There is also a day berth in the pilothouse.
48' Hatteras LRC Salon
Playpen's salon offers a large sofa to starboard with storage underneath and behind the back rest coffee table lounge chairs and book shelf to port and the galley port forward. There are custom screen doors on the salon aft door and the pilothouse doors. Playpen is decorated in neutral colors throughout and enhanced by her Hatteras Teak and joinery. There is Berber carpet and Lev-A-Lor blinds.

48' Hatteras LRC Raised Pilothouse
Playpen's raised pilothouse wascustomized to allow room for a Zwardis helm chair custom Corian top table and dinetteseating and plenty of room to walk around. There is also a day berth aft and side deck access doors on both sides. The varnished teak sole is stunning.

The stack washer-dryer is located in the salon forward inside a cabinet next to the galley.
48' Hatteras LRC Flybridge
The flybridge offers a full console forward two helm seats benchseat aft and a Bimini top.
48' Hatteras LRC Cockpit
This 48' Hatteras LRC's cockpit was extended 5' which creates a huge lazarette with two 100 gallon fiberglass water tanks and room for two full size mountain bikes. This leaves the original lazarette for engine room accesssteeringequipment access and parts storage. There is a canvas awning over stainless steel frame (2002)and large table with chairs for great entertaining. There is also a transom door to theswimplatform that was also extended by almost a foot. This arrangement can't be beat for water sports and floating dock access. A fiberglass cabinet with sink and countertop was added in 2002.
